SERDANG, Jan 17 (Bernama) -- On the 15th of January 2022, Putra Business School (PBS) carved a new milestone and celebrated the achievements of its 163 graduates of Batch 2019 & 2020 during the Inaugural Convocation ceremony at the Rashdan Baba Auditorium, UPM. YBhg. Academician Emeritus Professor Tan Sri Dato’ Dr. Syed Jalaludin Syed Salim was proclaimed as Chancellor.

Present at this historic event included YM Dato’ Syed Haizam Hishamuddin Putra Jamalullail, Chairman of Yayasan Putra Business School (YPBS), YBhg. Prof. Dr. Mohd Roslan Sulaiman, Chairman of PBS Board of Governors and Prof. Ts. Dr. Mohd Iqbal Saripan, Permanent Member of YPBS and a member of the Board of Directors.

In his speech, YBhg. Academician Emeritus Professor Tan Sri Dato’ Dr. Syed Jalaludin imparted advice to graduates to rise from the rest as entrepreneurs. “I want to ensure that each and every one of you-the first batch-to become a shining example of what [PBS] is all about. Success and failure all lies within us. Knowledge and skills are not everything, but personal attributes are. How we react with the people around us is key, and do not be afraid to try. Be confident, have perseverance and be brave to stand for the truth.”

Prof. Dr. Zulkornain Yusop, PBS President & CEO, reminded graduates of the expectations they hold as Alumni and Ambassadors of PBS to the entire world. “At PBS, we are committed to human governance as the bedrock of a sound, realistic, and progressive corporate philosophy. PBS graduates are always encouraged to incorporate not only knowledge but also their conscience in the decision-making.”

Due to the restrictions and compliance on the standard operating procedure for a physical event, the live-streamed ceremony brought together almost 3000 people across the local and international PBS community. PBS applauds every graduate for standing testament to the intellectual prowess and strength of character to complete their postgraduate journey, especially through the challenges posed by the Coronavirus (Covid19) pandemic.

PBS looks to staying connected with all graduates as members of the alumni community and wishes them all the best for their future ventures.
