PERNAS COMMITTED TOWARDS IMPROVING EXCELLENT RESULTS OF SMK SERI PANTAI STUDENTS

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 28 (Bernama) -- Perbadanan Nasional Berhad (Pernas) remains committed in organizing the Jejak Cemerlang Program with the students of Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Seri Pantai who will sit for the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) 2021. Entering its fifth year, the program that was last held in 2018 has been continued and was held for two (2) days on 27 and 28 January 2022 at Menara Pernas involving 150 students.
The program provides exposure to the right techniques of answering the exam questions as well as sharing tips on how to obtain excellent academic results. Through this program, teaching staff that consist of outstanding teachers from around the Klang Valley were specially brought in to help the students to strengthen their mastery in core subjects such as English, Mathematics, Bahasa Melayu, History and Pendidikan Islam.
Apart from the learning session, students were also given the opportunity to participate in a motivational session with Ustaz Haris Ismail (PU Riz) on day one of the program to motivate and raise the importance of education as well as building good personality and morale.
Since the program was implemented in 2015, there has been a consistent increase in the Grade Point Average (GPS) of the overall grade point achievement involving all subjects each year. For the record, in the year 2018, at least 80% of the SPM graduates who took part in the Jejak Cemerlang program successfully continued their studies in various fields of expertise at the university/college, which is 130 out of 150 students.
Encik Mohd Hilaluddin Abd Shukor, Pernas Chief Executive Officer said “This program is one of the corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative by Pernas which aims to help SPM students obtain excellent results and improve the academic performance of SMK Seri Pantai. This effort is seen not only to strengthen the good relationship between Pernas and SMK Seri Pantai which is a Pernas adopted school since 2012, but also proves that we have never stop in ensuring that these students continue to have the best educational opportunities.”
Program Jejak Cemerlang is the first CSR program to be conducted this year and among the other CSR programs that will be implemented by Pernas are the Asnafpreneur Program, Bakul Rezeki and Back To School.
