TAPAH, June 7 (Bernama) -- In recognition that digitalisation has made it increasingly vital for students to have equal access to digital learning opportunities, Talent Corporation Malaysia (TalentCorp) today donated 100 laptops in aid of 100 B40 students in Tapah to improve their graduate employability.

At the handover ceremony held in Tapah, Datuk Seri M. Saravanan, Minister of Human Resources said that the CSR programme is in line with the Government’s aspiration to bridge the digital divide for Malaysians and increase the marketability of young people, especially the low-income group.

“This effort aims to ensure that students are prepared to face the post-pandemic work environment of COVID-19, through the contribution of digital learning tools that can support their lifelong learning process,” he added.

Thomas Mathew, Group Chief Executive Officer of TalentCorp said that as the Ministry of Human Resources’ agency tasked to help steer the country’s talent strategy, TalentCorp continues to be committed to advancing the graduate employability agenda in Malaysia.

“Our many initiatives for young talents including the mynext one-stop profiling platform, the National Structured Internship Programme (MySIP) and Young Employable Students (YES!) are among our efforts to strategically invest in our talent pipeline to meet the upcoming DDI and FDI talent demands.”

“TalentCorp is responsible through its mandate to attract, nurture and retain the best human capital and expertise in supporting Malaysia's journey towards achieving developed nation status. TalentCorp's efforts are driven by close collaboration with various ministries, industry stakeholders and educational institutions through initiatives that focus on 3 key service offerings: Distribution, Diversification and Mobility of human capital in Malaysia,” he added.

As part of the CSR event, TalentCorp organised a career talk for the students and invited institutes of higher learning - Universiti Teknologi MARA Perak Branch, Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS, and Tapah Community College to share on their respective institutions’ offerings.

The TalentCorp’s mynext team also hosted a booth for students to learn about the mynext one-stop profiling platform where talents can discover their work values, interests, most employable traits, and be connected directly to internships.
