Towards establishing a flexible collaborative framework in the field of medical device and related technologies 

SHAH ALAM, Sept 2 (Bernama) -- Invest Selangor Berhad (ISB) and Medical Device Authority (MDA) agreed to build cooperation by signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for collaboration to encourage, strengthen, promote, develop and facilitate cooperation in the field of medical devices and related technology and towards a successful organization of the Selangor International Expo (MEDIC) which been held in conjunction with the Selangor International Business Summit 2022.

The MoU will serve to facilitate discussions leading towards establishing a formal and flexible collaborative framework between Invest Selangor Berhad and MDA, in the field of medical device and related technologies with the main purpose of making Selangor investment friendly for the prospective investor in medical device industry.

The objective of this MoU include the following:

i.   To include medical device industry as one of the components in the Selangor International Expo (Medic);
ii.   To identify and introduce strategic industry partners or potential investors which may be deemed suitable for the participation in Selangor International Expo (Medic);
iii.   MDA’s participation in Selangor International Expo (Medic) by organizing parallel events or develop any such programme during Selangor International Expo (Medic);
iv.   Promotion of Selangor International Expo (Medic) at seminars or programmes organized by MDA.

The MoU exchange ceremony, between Dato’ Hasan Azhari Hj Idris, CEO of Invest Selangor and Ahmad Shariff bin Hambali, CEO of  MDA, witnessed by YB Dato’ Teng Chang Khim, Exco Industry & Trade.

This year’s SIE (Medic) theme is Pioneering Tomorrow’s Healthcare, and the highly anticipated 8th edition of the international trade exhibition aims to build on the success of 2021 with an expanded vision to share, promote and showcase the latest and greatest in the field of medicine, life science and biotechnology, medical & healthcare that Selangor has to offer.

SIE (Medic) 2022 takes place from Oct 6 to 9 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC). The SIE (Medic) is part of the annual Selangor International Business Summit, which is organised by the Selangor State Government and powered by Invest Selangor Berhad.
