YUM CONGRATULATES DATUK SERI ANWAR IBRAHIM AS MALAYSIA'S 10TH PRIME MINISTER AND HOPES FOR A UNITY GOVERNMENT FOR STABILITY AND ECONOMIC RECOVERY

Friday 25/11/2022

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 25 (Bernama) -- On behalf of its board and members, Yayasan Usahawan Malaysia congratulates YAB Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim on his appointment as the 10th Prime Minister of Malaysia.

Nitesh Malani, Chairman of Yayasan Usahawan Malaysia, believes the appointment gives fresh and new hope to Malaysians who want a solid and stable government.

“On behalf of our community, I congratulate Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, and we express our gratitude and pray for the well-being of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah,” says Nitesh.

Yayasan Usahawan Malaysia hopes the new Prime Minister will bring much-needed unity and confidence to Malaysia and its current political and economic situation. It's a breath of fresh air, and the business community is looking forward to implementing more significant stimulus economy measures, particularly MSME.

“Among the immediate priorities of the government will be to assure the public and investors of political stability. A firm agenda to strengthen governance structures within the government should be made clear. The political instability Malaysia has been experiencing for the past three years must be reversed quickly. Economic recovery is a priority as projection shows economic recession in 2023,” Nitesh comments.

Some of the critical economic priorities that Yayasan Usahawan Malaysia urges the government to give urgent attention to are:

1. Manage inflation rates and strengthen the Ringgit
2. Table the Budget 2023 before the end of 2022
3. Provide achievable and all-inclusive plans for MSME growth
4. Form an economic advisory committee to give diversified inputs
5. Strengthen global and regional economic policies that position Malaysia as a key financial hub

Yayasan Usahawan Malaysia looks forward to working with the new government and its ministries to stabilise and grow the MSME sectors.
