ANNUAL SIGNATURE FINANCIAL PLANNING SYMPOSIUM 2022
KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 30 (Bernama) -- Financial Planning Association of Malaysia (FPAM) organized the Annual Signature Financial Planning Symposium 2022 with the theme The Excellence in Practice Management. The goals were to enhance the best practices knowledge and abilities to assist clients in their best interest. The event attracted 450 participants online and 250 attending at Connexion Conference & Event Centre, @ The Vertical in Bangsar South Kuala Lumpur. Mr Paul Hong Ceong, FPAM President led the opening address and announced the succession in restructuring the organization and spoke of the achievements of the revenue growth and that Malaysia retained its 11th place on the global ranking based on the number of total CFP certification. He reiterated the importance of financial planning among Malaysians and FPAM’s initiatives have helped public outreach through financial education series and the SmartFinance enhancement. The Guest of Honor, Dato’ Seri Dr. Awang Adek Hussin, Chairman, Securities Commission, delivered his keynote address via recording. He said that “Integrity and longevity are two sides of the same coin”, and that the FP industry is essential in domestic capital market to empower people to achieve their goals. “In providing advice, planners would need to dedicate time and attention to understanding client’s need,” he said which he stressed on inculcating inclusivity in provision of advice. He also said that financial planners are front-liners in the crusade against scam, given the rise is evident in the past few years. He further added that SC has been taking active steps which includes blocking website, issuing cease and desist notices and enforcement actions on scam related activities. This year’s theme is aligned on how to successfully prospect clients (leveraging on complimentary 1-to-1 consultations), successful prospecting to customer engagement and dressing for professional success.
