ASIC OFFSHORE & MARINE SDN BHD SIGNS MOU WITH THE LARGEST STATE-OWNED SHIPYARD IN INDONESIA

Exchange of MOU between Mr. La Mane, President Director of PT Dok & Perkapalan Kodja Bahari (Persero) and Mr. Mohammad Jazli Rahimi, Group Managing Director of ASIC Offshore & Marine Sdn Bhd, endorsed by YAB Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Prime Minister of Malaysia
KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 9 (Bernama) -- ASIC OFFSHORE & MARINE SDN BHD(ASIC) has announced on 8 January 2023 that they have signed a Memorandum of Understanding with PT DOK DAN PERKAPALAN KODJA BAHARI (PESERO) (PT DKB) thus entering an exciting phase of a strategic partnership.
The MOU signing, which was held at Hotel Grand Hyatt, Jakarta, Indonesia, was witnessed and endorsed by The Honourable Prime Minister of Malaysia, YAB Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim, YB Senator Tengku Datuk Seri Utama Zafrul Bin Tengku Abdul Aziz, Minister of Trade and Industry (MITI), YB Zambry Abdul Kadir, Minister of Foreign Affairs together with Indonesian counterpart The Honourable Minister for Public Works and Housing Dr. Ir. M. Basuki Hadimuljono and The Honourable Minister of Foreign Affairs, Retno Lestari Priansari Marsudi. The event was organised by Ministry of Trade and Industry (MITI) and Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) facilitated by Embassy of Malaysia, Jakarta together with the Government of Republic Indonesia.
According to the agreement, both ASIC and PT DKB will be able to fully leverage their expertise in their respective fields and work together more closely towards their common goal of capturing a bigger market share and more opportunities mainly in the areas of Oil & Gas and Maritime Industry specializing in Design & Engineering, New Building, Repair & Maintenance and Ship Management, in the short and long-term projects.
Mr Jazli Rahimi, Group Managing Director of ASIC OFFSHORE & MARINE SDN BHD said “ASIC is strongly confident that the cooperation with PT DKB will further strengthen ASIC’s footprint in Asia Pacific. We are looking towards a long-term economic development where doors will be opened for Malaysian companies to carry out businesses in Indonesia via ASIC. Our aim ultimately is to become the market enabler by providing a platform for Malaysian companies to enter the Indonesian market.” He further added “The collaboration with PT DKB, a BUMN (State Owned Company) company as our strategic partner in Indonesia shall enhance our strong brand image and presence in the local industry with the estimated contract value of RM 500 million projected within the next two years.
Mrs. Nur Farina Khalil, Group Executive Director of ASIC Offshore & Marine Sdn Bhd, added that ASIC Group of Companies – PT ASIC Energi Nusantara and ASIC Shipping and Renewable Sdn Bhd will strengthen their commitment towards providing a dynamic total solution for the MOU to support the long-term economic development in Indonesia, which is consistent with ASIC’s vision to bring Malaysia’s expertise to the global market.
