SUNWAY CITY, June 2 (Bernama) -- Children and their parents were pleasantly surprised with flowers and balloons when they entered the new Towers D and E at Sunway Medical Centre, Sunway City earlier this week. The delightful occasion was organised to commemorate the opening of the new towers and to express appreciation to patients and their guardians for their trust and confidence towards our care.
“We are glad that we are able to make their day a special one through this initiative. It has been a humbling journey for us to achieve this significant milestone and we are pleased that we now have a one-stop centre that meets the healthcare needs of infants, children and adolescents,” shared Dr Ng Lee Li, General Manager of Women and Children Services, Sunway Medical Centre, Sunway City.
The hospital’s very own mascot, ELFY, made an appearance at the new towers and brought much joy to our young patients at the Children’s Clinics on Levels 7 and 9 as well as the Paediatric Wards on Level 6 and 8. In addition, the mothers were presented with beautiful gerberas of various colours in line with Mother’s Day, which is celebrated every May.
Sunway Medical Centre, Sunway City’s new towers also house the first dedicated Children’s Emergency in a private hospital in the country which serves our paediatric patients separately from the adults, a Children Development Centre, Paediatric Wards, Paediatric Operating Theatres, Paediatric Intensive Care Units (ICU) and Paediatric High Dependency Units (HDU). It also has a new Radiology Department that is equipped with the latest computerised tomography (CT) scanner,
3 Tesla MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging), ultrasound and General X-ray facilities.
