SERDANG, Dec 5 (Bernama) -- His Highness the Crown Prince of Selangor, Tengku Amir Shah Ibni Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj, was proclaimed as PBS’ Chancellor and conferred 162 local and international graduates with their respective degrees. The grand event was held on 4 December 2023 at the Pusat Kebudayaan Dan Kesenian Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM).

“Putra Business School’s dedication to nurturing business leaders and researchers, fostering industry collaborations, and contributing to the business ecosystem is commendable.” Remarked His Highness Tengku Amir Shah, in his address.

“I am confident that the school is building an outstanding legacy in its mission to make a meaningful impact in the world of business education, and I look forward to witnessing the great achievements that lie ahead.”

The PBS community and partners are honoured to have His Highness Tengku Amir Shah as our Chancellor. His Highness Tengku Amir Shah is also the Pro-Chancellor of UPM, and his appointment was delivered by UPM Vice Chancellor who is also Chairman of PBS’ Board of Governors, Dato’ Professor Dr. Ahmad Farhan Mohd Sadullah. This shows the strong connection between PBS and UPM. Distinguished guests present at the ceremony included YM Dato’ Syed Haizam Hishamuddin Putra Jamalullail, Chairman of Yayasan Putra Business School Board of Directors.

Professor. Dr. Azmawani Abd Rahman, PBS President & Chief Executive Officer, delivered an inspirational address that encapsulated the spirit of the ceremony.

“Your diligence and determination have earned you a Putra Business School degree - a distinction that will certainly open doors to a brighter future. Those who have walked this path before you have gone on to become leaders and innovators in their respective sectors, including business, entrepreneurship, public service, politics, and even athletics. Now, it is your turn to live up to your fullest potential.”

Among the ceremonial highlights was the presentation of various awards to the outstanding PBS graduates. The awards were the President’s Award, the Graduate-on-Time Award, the Gold Award, the Silver Award and the newly introduced Academic Partners’ Awards, in collaboration with PBS’ esteemed academic partners, Chartered Management Institute (CMI), Institute of Marketing Malaysia (IMM), the Malaysian Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (MAICSA) and Malaysian Institute of Human Resource Management (MIHRM). Aside as a form of recognition of the recipients’ remarkable academic excellence, the Partners’ Awards also signify PBS’ strong linkages and networking with renowned industry players.
