Landmark event draws luminaries from the fields of education, politics and business
TOKYO, Dec 5 (Bernama-BUSINESS WIRE) -- Malvern College Tokyo (MCT) held its grand opening ceremony yesterday, officially marking the commencement of the school’s first academic year, which began in August 2023. Officiating guests included HM Julia Longbottom CMG, the British Ambassador to Japan; Professor Roger D. Kornberg, Nobel Laureate for Chemistry and Professor at the School of Medicine of Stanford University; Jacqueline So, Co-founder and Chief Executive of Malvern College International; Keith Metcalfe, Headmaster of Malvern College; and Mike Spencer, Founding Headmaster of Malvern College Tokyo. More than 300 guests, including representatives from the fields of politics, education and business, celebrated the event.

Ambassador Longbottom spoke about the importance of a hallowed British educational institution launching in Japan: “It is a school which can draw on the strengths of two distinct cultures as you look to extend the boundaries of international education in Japan.”
