TAITUNG, Taiwan, Jan 16 (Bernama-BUSINESS WIRE) -- On Jan. 15, Taiwan’s southeastern county of Taitung held its first tourism presentation of 2024 in Kuala Lumpur to nearly 100 Malaysian tour operators, who showed tremendous interest in the county’s cultural, natural and culinary highlights and travel incentives showcased at the event.

With “Taitung Ramble” as its theme, the presentation took place earlier in the year than before to help overseas visitors make their travel plans well ahead of time.

The presentation started with singing and dancing by Composed Artistes In Taiwan Aborigines and consisted of a briefing with a film highlighting ten features in Taitung, including places to go, food to eat and activities not to miss, that visitors to the county must include in their itinerary. Subsidy programs for charter flights and international travelers and Taitung’s extra bonus were also announced at the event.

It is believed that subsidies from both Taiwan’s central government and Taitung County will help attract more Malaysian visitors to the southeastern county and charter flights will make their trip easier and faster.

“Taitung’s natural scenery, special festivities and unique aboriginal culture are all features not to be missed by any overseas visitors,” said Jessie Chiang, head of the County’s Department of Transportation and Tourism Promotion. “We hope that the presentation on Monday has helped Malaysian operators know more about Taitung as a secret hideout.”

In addition to the exuberant song and dance performance by the indigenous group and the presentation of tourist information, tour operators attending the event tried red oolong tea, a must-drink when in Taitung, and put on traditional garment of the county’s indigenous tribes. It is hoped that by savoring beforehand the hospitality that Taitung has to offer, the county’s partners in the Malaysian travel industry will pass on their delightful experience to more outbound travelers in the country.
