KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 5 (Bernama) -- As international trade rapidly transforms, the deployment of the ASEAN Customs Transit System (ACTS) emerges as a groundbreaking development, particularly for Malaysia's transportation sector. This system harmonises the regulatory framework, offering transporters the ability to navigate ASEAN borders with unparalleled ease and efficiency. It is essential for Malaysian transporters to understand this change and adopt ACTS quickly to enhance their competitive position.

ACTS has been designed to allow movement of goods by road from a point of departure to any other ASEAN Member States via any number of transit countries with minimal procedures at borders. This will simplify the transportation of goods across all ASEAN nations, reducing the bureaucratic hurdles that have long hampered seamless cross-border trade.

With this system transporting goods from Malaysia's Port Klang to Vietnam will take less than five days, a big reduction from the previous ten days. By halving transit time, coupled with a cost saving of between RM800 to RM1,000 per shipment, Malaysian transporters gain a significant decrease in expenses and develop a more reliable supply chain.  NX Transport (M) Sdn Bhd, a logistics leader under the Nippon Express Group, has already seamlessly integrated ACTS into its regional operations and benefited significantly in efficiency gains and operational performance in their business.

It's time for you to adapt to the new regulations and future-proof your operations. Deploy the ASEAN Customs Transit System now. Get in touch with my team at the Logistics Productivity Nexus in the Malaysia Productivity Corporation for advisory services about how to transition to ACTS and improve your productivity and competitiveness for transnational transport business.
