Managing Director, Mohd Faris Adli Shukery handed over a donation of RM3,000 to Persatuan Orang Cacat Johor Bahru during the JPG Iftar Perdana 2024.

JOHOR BAHRU, April 3 (Bernama) -- Johor Plantations Group Berhad (JPG), an upstream oil palm plantation company, reaffirms its commitment to supporting the underprivileged during Ramadan through its #JPGBerkat community impact programme.

In conjunction with its Iftar Perdana 2024, JPG extended a helping hand to five deserving recipients to receive a donation of RM3,000 each. The beneficiaries are Pertubuhan Kebajikan Anak-Anak Yatim Nur Solihin, Persatuan Orang Cacat Johor Bahru, Pusat Jagaan (Orang tua) Impian Syimah, Pertubuhan Ibu Tunggal Kebangsaan Malaysia and Hidayah Centre Foundation Johor.

Managing Director, Mohd Faris Adli Shukery said, “JPG continues to embody the spirit of JCorp’s purpose of ‘Membina & Membela’, centred on our mission of building a future that champions equity through sustainable investment strategies.

“Through our flagship CSR programme #JPGBerkat, we give back to marginalised community members by providing them with various support including donations, especially in the month when Muslims are expected to increase our alms and provide to those in need,” he added.

The checks were handed to the organisations at the Iftar Perdana’s main venue at Sungai Johor Eco Retreat (SUNJER). JPG’s annual Iftar Perdana was held for all employees and workers simultaneously including at various halls, mosques and surau of JPG’s operating complexes.

To foster the spirit of philanthropy among its employees, JPG also organised a Baju Raya sponsorship programme for the Nur Solihin orphans. Additionally, Kelab Sukan & Rekreasi Tiram (KSRT), the sports and recreational club under JPG’s parent company, Kulim (Malaysia) Berhad, extended duit raya to the children, exemplifying the company's holistic approach to community support.

This Iftar Perdana event also benefits JPG employees by fostering strong interpersonal connections with social groups who need assistance, facilitating networking opportunities with non-government organisations (NGOs), and allowing opportunities for JPG employees to carry out meaningful stakeholder engagement projects, thus reinforcing JPG’s commitment to generosity during Ramadan, a sacred month observed by Muslims worldwide. JPG remains steadfast in its commitment as a responsible corporate citizen contributing to societal well-being and the long-term growth of local communities.
