PETALING JAYA, April 25 (Bernama) -- The Malaysia Productivity Corporation (MPC) and Lean Management Academy Sdn. Bhd. (LMA) are partnering to bring efficiency expertise to A&W restaurants across Malaysia. A total of 100 A&W outlets are now implementing the Certified Practitioner in Lean Management (F&B) program, designed to streamline operations and enhance customer service.
Malaysia Productivity Corporation (MPC) Director General Zahid Ismail expressed strong support for A&W Malaysia's embrace of Lean Management principles during launching of the A&W Lean Management Program initiative in Shah Alam. This collaborative program underscores a shared commitment from all parties to driving productivity and innovation within the Malaysian restaurant industry. The program equips participating organisations with the skills necessary to optimise processes and accelerate business growth.
A&W Malaysia, renowned for its dedication to exceptional customer experiences, takes a significant step towards operational excellence by embracing Lean Management principles. CEO George Ang underscored the importance of exceeding customer expectations, highlighting how Lean practices will empower them to achieve this goal. A&W recently completed a three-day intensive Lean Training/Workshop facilitated by LMA, marking the beginning of their Lean Journey. This comprehensive program aims to instil Lean thinking as a core element of A&W's organisational culture.
In a move to elevate customer experience and solidify its position as a top QSR brand, A&W Malaysia embraces Lean Management principles. CEO George Ang highlights how Lean practices will empower A&W to exceed expectations. Following a rigorous Lean training facilitated by LMA, A&W embarks on its Lean Journey, aiming to instil continuous improvement as a core value. "This initiative fosters a long-term culture that will benefit both A&W and our customers," said Ang. The program targets at least 10% reduction in operational costs.
Also present together at this event is Datuk William Ng, Champion of Retail and Food & Beverages Productivity Nexus (RFBPN) of MPC. Datuk William Ng applauded A&W Malaysia's commitment to continuous improvement. "Embracing Lean Management principles isn't just about efficiency; it's about survival in today's competitive landscape,” he said. “By eliminating waste and optimising processes, local companies especially SMEs can enhance product quality, improve employee morale, and increase agility in a dynamic market. This translates into a stronger foundation for growth across all retail sectors".
