BUKIT JALIL, April 25 (Bernama) -- MIMOS Berhad, a premier innovation centre in semiconductors, microelectronics, and ICT technologies under the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI), and Phison Electronics Corporation, a global leader in NAND flash controllers and storage solutions, signed a Memorandum of Cooperation recently in Kuala Lumpur witnessed by YB Tuan Chang Lih Kang, MOSTI Minister.  This strategic collaboration will advance Artificial Intelligence (AI) driven model training in Malaysia.
 
MIMOS and Phison are joining forces to address the critical need for AI applications that safeguard confidential information while boosting competitiveness for Malaysian businesses. This partnership will harness Phison’s aiDAPTIV+ platform and MIMOS' expertise in E&E research and development to transform the training of large language models (LLMs), enhancing accessibility for SMEs without the need for extensive resources.
 
The collaboration will produce specialised firmware for the aiDAPTIV+ platform, offering SMEs cost-effective, efficient LLM training solutions previously available only to larger enterprises. Additionally, the platform will be adapted for various use cases, providing affordable LLM fine-tuning both as a technology and a service.
 
Dr. Saat Shukri Embong, the Acting President and Chief Executive Officer of MIMOS remarked, “Besides the immediate benefit to SMEs that are keen to utilise AI in their business strategies, this partnership between Phison and MIMOS is also a strategic avenue to boost the nation's capabilities and capacity in integrated circuits development and system design.
