GEORGE TOWN, May 3 (Bernama) -- Penang Heritage Photography Fiesta returns for its highly anticipated 3.0 edition, celebrating the rich tapestry of Penang’s cultural heritage with the theme "Taste of Penang Tradition: Capturing Penang’s Traditional Flavours” from 9 May – 28 July 2024.  

This year's theme invites photographers and videographers from all backgrounds and skill levels to explore and document not just the culinary heritage of Penang, but the dynamic relationship of the community with their food. Participants are encouraged to delve into the sights, smells, and stories behind Penang's traditional cuisine.

Penang Heritage Photography Fiesta 3.0 will feature a series of photography and videography workshops, as well as guided photo walks, led by SONY experts as follows:

· Photography workshop
11 May 2024, 10.00am – 1.00pm, Hotel JEN Penang
· Videography workshop
11 May 2024, 2.30pm – 5.30pm, Hotel JEN Penang
· Photowalk #1: Morning market walk
8 June 2024, 7.30am – 11.00am, New World Park Centre Court
· Photowalk #2: Night street food walk
8 June 2024, 6.30pm – 9.30pm, Lebuh Carnarvon

Furthermore, the Fiesta will be hosting an exciting competition and a photography exhibition showcasing the competition’s finalists' photographs along with selected images from professional photographers.

Fifteen winners across three categories will stand a chance to win prizes worth over RM35,000, including a SONY camera, PS5 and many more.

The Fiesta is jointly organised by PPB Group Berhad, its property division PPB Properties and SONY Malaysia. The annual fiesta was conceptualized to showcase the essence of Penang's unique arts, culture, and heritage through the lens of photography and videography, as well as nurture the next generation of local talents.

Last year’s Fiesta saw over 600 participants throughout the three-month-long campaign.
