KUALA LUMPUR, May 16 (Bernama) -- Patrons of the highly-anticipated THE COMMUNE Mall in Kulai, Johor can now enjoy exclusive discounts on the AirAsia MOVE app (formerly airasia Superapp), spanning across flights, hotels and rides deals.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed between Nadia Omer, CEO of AirAsia MOVE and David Kang, CEO of THE COMMUNE Lifestyle Mall at AirAsia MOVE’s headquarter in RedStation, KL Sentral to officiate this partnership.

The Commune Mall, poised to open its doors in Q3 2024, promises a revolutionary approach to shopping in Kulai, Johor. Spanning a net lettable area of 200,000 square feet across four acres, the three-storey mall will feature two major anchors. Hwa Thai Supermart, a proud Johorean grocery chain, is renowned for its quality products and value pricing. Complementing it, Sports Affairs, serving as both a world-class sports facility and a versatile multipurpose hall, will raise the bar for sports amenities in Kulai. It will offer 10 indoor badminton courts, 2 futsal courts, and basketball facilities, catering to a wide range of sporting activities.

Additionally, THE COMMUNE Mall is proud to introduce key mini anchors and unique ‘1st in Johor/Kulai’ openings. This includes: -
  • The first Chagee Drive-Thru in Johor
  • The first Burger King Drive-Thru in Kulai
  • The first Good2U in Kulai
  • The first Kenangan Coffee in Kulai
  • The first Richeese Factory in Kulai
  • The first Bingxue in Kulai
  • The first IJ Space in Malaysia
  • The first new concept Guoma Seafood Shabu Shabu in Malaysia
Through this partnership, users of the AirAsia MOVE app will be able to earn 1 AirAsia Point for every RM1 spent at every outlet* of THE COMMUNE Mall, and 1 Airasia Point for every RM5 spent on groceries. The points could be spent on all flights in the AirAsia network, hotel bookings, and ride-hailing through AirAsia Ride, all on AirAsia MOVE.

Nadia Omer, CEO of AirAsia MOVE, said, “Today is a special milestone for AirAsia MOVE as it is the first time we offered the service of our loyalty programme, AirAsia Rewards, to our partner which allows their customers to get more out of their everyday shopping, and benefit from AirAsia MOVE’s ecosystem of offerings of flights, hotels, rides and many more. This is a win-win partnership for both parties and we would like to invite potential partners to reach out to us for further collaboration.”

Mr David Kang, CEO of THE COMMUNE Lifestyle Mall, stated, "We at THE COMMUNE are thrilled to partner with AirAsia MOVE. This collaboration perfectly aligns with our vision of fostering a thriving community, not just a mall.  This partnership empowers our patrons to do just that - travel, explore new places, and create lasting memories - all while earning rewards through their everyday shopping at THE COMMUNE. The seamless integration with the AirAsia MOVE app adds a layer of convenience and exciting deals, making the entire experience even more rewarding. "
