Annual Event Hosted by Invest Selangor Berhad to Feature Two Series of Key Expos and Conferences, Promoting Regional Investment and Networking 


PETALING JAYA, June 25 (Bernama) -- Invest Selangor Berhad launched the highly anticipated Selangor International Business Summit (SIBS) 2024 today at the Sheraton Hotel, Petaling Jaya. Scheduled to take place at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre starting next month, this annual event, spearheaded by the Selangor State Government and organized by Invest Selangor Berhad, has evolved into one of the region’s largest marketplaces and networking hubs for exhibitors, investors, and industry leaders across Southeast Asia. 

SIBS 2024 will be structured into two dynamic series: Series One, from 25 – 27 July 2024, and Series Two, from 16-19 October 2024, offering unparalleled opportunities for industry insights, engagement, and international networking.

Series One: 25-27 July 2024 The first series will focus on investment themes through two key events:

• Selangor ASEAN Business Conference (SABC): A pivotal regional forum addressing investment challenges and opportunities within Southeast Asia, featuring esteemed speakers such as YAB Dato Menteri Besar Selangor and senior representatives of business chambers from ASEAN member countries, including a notable speaker from Timor-Leste.

• Selangor Investment and Industrial Park Expo (SPARK): Showcasing prominent players in the industrial park ecosystem across ASEAN and from various state governments and industry stakeholders.

Series Two: 16-19 October 2024 The second series will delve into specific sectors with three main events:

• Selangor International Expo (Food & Beverages): An international F&B expo that will feature local and international exhibitors as well as key forums and discussions on Food Security. Selangor International Halal Convention or SELHAC the state’s own halal expo focusing on halal certification, halal logistics and digital innovation in the halal industry will also be co-located in SIE F&B.

• Selangor Life Sciences Convention (SLC): A conference and expo on Life Sciences sector that will feature three industry forums; the Selangor Life Sciences Synergy, the Medical Device Authority Industry Updates and the Selangor Korea Sustainable Futures Seminar.

• Selangor Smart City and Digital Economy Convention (SDEC): Showcasing exhibitors under the theme of exploring Ai innovation in mobility, healthcare and education. SIDEC will also feature state’s latest initiative, the Malaysia Semiconductor Accelerator and IC Design Park in its exhibition.
 
YB Ng Sze Han, Selangor Exco for Investment, Trade, and Mobility, urged the business community to engage deeply in SIBS 2024, emphasizing its role in fostering growth within Malaysia and across ASEAN. Anticipating over 60,000 visitors from 80 countries, SIBS 2024 aims to facilitate transactions worth RM7 billion.
 
YAB Dato’ Seri Amirudin bin Shari, Dato’ Menteri Besar Selangor, highlighted the scale and significance of SIBS 2024, featuring five major expos and conferences across two series, making it the largest edition yet.
