KUALA LUMPUR, July 17 (Bernama) -- PETRONAS Twin Towers and KLCC Park, have been honoured with Gold and Editor’s Choice awards at the recent The Edge’s Best Managed and Sustainable Property Awards 2024 held on 15 July 2024.  These awards are testament to KLCC Group’s dedication to top-class real estate management practices and maintenance with focus on sustainability and value creation.

PETRONAS Twin Towers, the iconic asset of KLCCP Stapled Group (comprising KLCC Property Holdings Berhad and KLCC Real Estate Investment Trust (KLCC REIT)) emerged victorious in the 10 Years and Above Non-Strata Office Category with a Gold Award, for showcasing professionalism as well as focused planning and execution in maintaining the property with excellence and sustainability.

The PETRONAS Twin Towers was also bestowed with the esteemed Editor’s Choice Award for Timeless Excellence 2024, reinforcing its position as Malaysia’s national benchmark of excellence, for being designed, built and maintained with sustainability.

“We are honoured by these recognitions from The Edge.  These awards are testament to the team’s relentless pursuit of excellence and executing maintenance with effectiveness and liveability.  In the Twin Towers’ 25-year journey, we place strong focus on energy efficiency and smart facilities management systems in our building maintenance initiatives, remaining steadfast in upholding the highest standards in maintaining the beacon of Malaysia’s pride,” said Datuk Md. KLCC Park was equally celebrated this year, winning the Gold Award in the 10 Years and Above – Specialised Category and earning the Editor’s Choice Award for Exemplary Community Magnet 2024.  This award reflects KLCC Group’s strong commitment to creating and maintaining spaces that foster community well-being and engagement.

This year’s award also saw KLCC Park honoured with The Edge – ILAM Sustainable Landscape Award in the Landscape Planning Category, winning the Gold Award.  These recognitions highlight KLCC Group’s efforts in innovative and sustainable landscape planning, design and execution.

Datuk Md. Shah Mahmood also added “Since its opening 26 years ago, the KLCC Park is evidence of our commitment in balancing the rapid pace of urban development with the preservation of green spaces. This priority has been at the forefront of the park's design, ensuring that the natural environment is harmoniously integrated with the surrounding cityscape, providing a much-needed oasis of tranquillity while acting as the green lung amidst the bustling city life. The 50-acre park has also been meticulously maintained for visitors while striking a balance between constructed spaces and green areas.”

We have installed state of the art CCTV across the park in ensuring safety for its visitors and Internet of Things (IoT) soil sensors across the park for plant irrigation efficiencies. These initiatives not only enhance the urban ecosystem but also foster a community that lives in harmony with nature. It reflects our commitment to sustainable urban development and the creation of vibrant community spaces,” he elaborated.
