KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 4 (Bernama) -- The National Tech Association of Malaysia (PIKOM) extends its warmest congratulations to Anuar Farid Fadzil on his appointment as the new Chief Executive Officer of the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC). Anuar's experience in both the public and private sector positions will be beneficial to spearhead MDEC’s efforts to advance the nation’s digital economy.
With the ongoing momentum behind Malaysia’s Digital Economy Blueprint, Anuar’s appointment comes at a pivotal moment. Digital Minister Gobind Singh Deo recently expressed confidence that Malaysia’s digital economy is on track to outpace the projected 25.5% contribution to the nation’s GDP by the end of 2025. With Anuar at the helm and bringing renewed vigour, we expect MDEC to be energized and ready to push these ambitious goals further.
The tech community is supportive of Anuar’s leadership, given his proven ability to forge strong alliances and embrace collaboration. His openness to diverse opinions and commitment to closer ties between the government and industry will be instrumental in shaping the future of Malaysia’s digital economy. His role is expected to further unite stakeholders, fostering a vibrant ecosystem that supports innovation and sustainable growth.
PIKOM and MDEC have long enjoyed a fruitful partnership, working together on initiatives that have played a key role in driving Malaysia’s digital transformation. As a leading advocate for the tech industry, PIKOM looks forward to continuing this collaborative relationship under Anuar’s leadership.
“On behalf of PIKOM, we congratulate Anuar Farid Fadzil on his new role as CEO of MDEC,” said PIKOM Chairman, Ong Chin Seong. “We are excited about the future under his leadership of MDEC and the opportunity to deepen our collaboration with MDEC. His expertise and vision will undoubtedly help accelerate Malaysia’s digital transformation journey. PIKOM remains fully committed to supporting MDEC’s efforts to ensure that Malaysia's digital economy continues to grow and contribute significantly to the nation’s prosperity.”
As Malaysia’s digital economy gains further traction, PIKOM and MDEC will continue to work hand-in-hand to achieve shared national goals, positioning the country as a leading hub for digital innovation in the region.
