  DEPARTMENT OF INTERNATIONAL TRADE PROMOTION (DITP MALAYSIA) ANNOUNCES THAILAND WEEK 2024 16TH - 19TH OCTOBER 2024 | HALL 2, KUALA LUMPUR CONVENTION CENTRE (KLCC)

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia, Oct 17 (Bernama) -- The Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP Malaysia), under the Ministry of Commerce of Thailand, is excited to announce Thailand Week 2024, scheduled from 16th to 19th October 2024 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC). This event is organized in collaboration with the Royal Thai Embassy in Kuala Lumpur and the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) Malaysia, aiming to strengthen economic and trade ties between Thailand and Malaysia.
 
Event Theme

Thailand Week 2024, themed "Unlock Trade Opportunities, Unleash Business Potential," will serve as a premier platform for businesses, buyers, importers, and consumers to discover Thai innovations, explore new business opportunities, and enhance bilateral trade relations.
 
Event Highlights

· Opening Ceremony: The event will officially commence on 16th October 2024 at 3:00 p.m. with distinguished guests, including H.E. Miss Lada Phumas, Ambassador of Thailand to Malaysia. The ceremony will take place at the Thailand Week Stage, Hall 2, KLCC.
 
· Product Exhibitions: More than 80 booths will feature high-quality Thai products across sectors such as Food & Beverages, Health Products & Food Supplements, HORECA (Hotel, Restaurant, Café), Herbs and Herbal Products, Innovative Products, and Ready-to-Eat Products. Participating brands include Taobin, Maepranom Chilli Paste, Charoen Pokphand Foods, Snake Brand, Lactasoy, Red Bull, and many others.

· Business Matching Sessions: Scheduled from 16th to 18th October, these sessions will connect Thai suppliers with Malaysian buyers, importers, and distributors, fostering long-term business partnerships.

· Pocket Talk Sessions: Industry experts will share valuable insights on market trends, trade strategies, and business growth opportunities within ASEAN.

· Cultural Performances: Daily traditional Thai performances, including Fawn Sao Mai/Silk- reeling dance, traditional music, and hill tribe dances, will celebrate Thailand’s rich cultural heritage.

· Experience Zones: Interactive workshops, product sampling, and hands-on demonstrations will allow visitors to engage with the craftsmanship of Thai products.

Economic Growth and Bilateral Trade
Thailand Week 2024 is projected to generate over USD 4 million in trade during the event, with an anticipated USD 14 million in trade over the following year. This exhibition supports Thailand’s goal of enhancing trade relations with Malaysia and achieving a bilateral trade target of USD 30 billion by 2027.

Our aim is to showcase the best of Thai products while facilitating meaningful business connections that drive trade and innovation."
 
Co-location with SIBS 2024
Thailand Week 2024 will be co-located with the 8th Selangor International Business Summit (SIBS 2024), providing an enhanced platform for networking and collaboration between Thai exhibitors and Malaysian industry leaders, policymakers, and entrepreneurs.

This year’s event is strengthened by partnerships with the National Innovation Agency, Thailand (NIA) and Invest Selangor Berhad, contributing to innovation-driven business opportunities and cross-border investments.
