KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 21 (Bernama) -- AmBank Group, a steadfast advocate for corporate social responsibility (CSR) and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) initiatives, proudly announces another CSR initiative, furthering its commitment to sustainability at Zoo Melaka.

Continuing its legacy of supporting wildlife preservation, AmBank, through its AmGroup Foundation, has renewed its sponsorship for Zoo Melaka, amounting to RM40,000 for the upkeep of two oranutans, Phat Phat and Mardhia.

This year’s CSR program also included a special sponsorship of 100 B40 students from underprivileged families and 20 teachers from SK Bukit Rokan Utara, Gemencheh, and SJK (C) Kg Baru Gedok, Gemencheh, for an educational trip to Zoo Melaka. As part of this initiative, the students received back-to-school hampers containing a stationary set, food container, water bottle, and colour pencils.

Additionally, 50 AmBank employees from the Klang Valley and Southern Region volunteered to engage in several enriching activities, including:

· Zoomanji Treasure Hunt: Assisting students in a fun treasure hunt, helping them find clues related to various animal species at the zoo.
· Mural Painting: Beautifying the orangutan enclosure and surrounding areas through a collaborative mural painting effort.
· Animal Enrichment (Hammock Making): Creating hammocks for the orangutans using reusable items, enhancing their habitat and well-being.
