CYBERJAYA, Oct 23 (Bernama) -- Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) is holding a Public Consultation on the draft Code of Conduct (Best Practice) for Internet Messaging Service Providers and Social Media Service Providers (draft Code of Conduct (Best Practice)).

The objective of this Public Consultation is to obtain views from the public on the draft Code of Conduct (Best Practice), which sets out the best practice for adoption by Applications Service Provider Class Licence holders that provide Internet messaging service and social media service (Service Providers) in addressing harmful content online, as well as other relevant conduct requirements that are to be observed.

MCMC invites members of the public including Service Providers, industry players, and interested parties to provide their feedback and comments on the draft Code of Conduct (Best Practice) (available here) beginning 22 October 2024. Written submissions on the above matter can be provided to MCMC, either in hard copy or electronic form, by 5:00 PM on 5 November 2024 at the following:
