KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 6 (Bernama) -- SIRIM Berhad, Malaysia's premier organisation for standards, technology, and quality advancement, officially inaugurated the International Conference on Quality and Innovation (ICQI) 2024 today at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC). This prestigious two-day conference gathers global leaders, industry experts, and policymakers to discuss and drive progress in quality management and innovation.

ICQI 2024 is designed to serve as a dynamic hub where industry leaders, policymakers, practitioners, and academics can engage in meaningful dialogue and exchange insights. Through a series of keynote sessions, workshops, and panel discussions, the conference encourages knowledge-sharing that contributes to the global discourse on quality, standards, and sustainable practices. By bringing together diverse expertise and perspectives, ICQI 2024 seeks to create an environment conducive to fostering dialogue and promoting a unified vision of innovation and quality.

The ICQI 2024 was launched by the Deputy Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI), YB Liew Chin Tong. Also present during the launch were SIRIM Berhad Chairman, Datuk Ir. (Dr) Khairol Anuar Mohamad Tawi and President, Chairman of SIRIM Academy, Puan Norlin Abdul Samad, President & Group Chief Executive Officer of SIRIM Berhad, Dato’ Indera Ir. Dr. Ahmad Sabirin Arshad and Chief Executive Officer of SIRIM Academy, Encik Nik Sazali Nik Hussin.

YB Liew Chin Tong opened the ceremony with remarks highlighting the importance of collaboration, quality, and innovation in propelling Malaysia’s industrial and economic growth. He emphasised that ICQI 2024 serves as a strategic platform for knowledge-sharing and innovation that advance cross-sectoral dialogue and aims to support Malaysia’s journey towards a more sustainable future.

“I would like to reaffirm Malaysia’s commitment to advance innovation and improving quality as pillars for sustainable development. Our national policies are aligned with our vision to be a leader in both economic progress and environmental stewardship. As we continue to build on this foundation, I am confident that Malaysia can contribute meaningfully to global efforts toward sustainability,” he added.

Additionally, ICQI 2024 provides attendees with valuable opportunities to establish strategic partnerships and explore potential joint initiatives, encouraging long-term collaborations that drive impactful solutions. Focused sessions on the latest trends in technology, Industry 4.0, sustainable innovation, and quality assurance ensure that participants stay informed on advancements crucial to maintaining competitiveness.
