Dato' Jana Santhiran Muniayan; the Chairman of TDA, YB Sim Tze Tzin; senior management of MOT; and senior representatives of TDA."

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 20 (Bernama) -- Technology Depository Agency (TDA), an agency under the Ministry of Finance (MOF), recently hosted a high-level delegation in conjunction with the ASEAN Senior Transport Officials Meeting (STOM) organised by the Ministry of Transport Malaysia. This event provided TDA, as the sole agency managing the Industrial Collaboration Programme (ICP) and Performance-Based Contract (PBC), with a unique opportunity to position itself as a key reference point for the ASEAN community. The agency continues to demonstrate the benefits of implementing initiatives driven by the Government of Malaysia through strategic procurement practices.

The event was graced by the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Transport, YBhg. Dato' Jana Santhiran Muniayan, whose presence as the Guest of Honour underscored the importance of TDA's initiatives in advancing Malaysia’s transportation sector towards enhancing Rail Industry in Malaysia. TDA's contributions to the rail sector are particularly noteworthy, with several local developments successfully achieved under its initiatives.

In addition to fostering local industry development, TDA plays a pivotal role in talent development by bridging academia and industry. This effort encompasses both private and public universities, ensuring Malaysia nurtures a specialised talent pool capable of supporting ASEAN's future growth. Through various initiatives, TDA has generated ICP credit values of RM40.5 billion, reinforcing its value in driving impactful activities.

TDA Chairman, YB Sim Tze Tzin, highlighted that the Performance-Based Contract (PBC) initiative ensures the Government of Malaysia maximises returns on investments in national assets by driving efficiency and accountability. “The PBC initiative not only enforces high performance standards but also ensures that every ringgit spent delivers tangible value to the nation,” he stated. A study on 10 contracts revealed that the initiative saved RM26.36 million by enforcing deductions for non-performing deliverables, ensuring contractors adhere to strict performance standards while optimising resource utilisation.

The gathering marked a significant milestone for TDA in advancing regional economic integration. By sharing its achievements and insights, STOM participants can leverage Malaysia's experiences to accelerate their own development trajectories. Looking ahead, TDA envisions future collaborations, including joint ventures, technology partnerships, and talent exchanges, further strengthening economic ties within the ASEAN region.

TDA remains steadfast in its commitment to fostering mutually beneficial partnerships, exemplifying the spirit of cooperation and shared prosperity within ASEAN.
