PUTRA BUSINESS SCHOOL BUILDS ENVIRONMENTAL LEGACY THROUGH “ECOLEGACY: TREES FOR TOMORROW”
“EcoLegacy: Trees for Tomorrow” is Putra Business School’s latest community and environmental initiative. Held at Hutan Simpan Ayer Hitam (SISFEC), Puchong, it was officiated by His Highness the Crown Prince of Selangor, who is also Chancellor of Putra Business School. This first phase saw the planting of 130 trees towards a larger commitment of 500 trees, contributing to Malaysia’s 100 Million Tree Planting Campaign (2021–2025), and bringing together students, alumni, staff, corporate partners, and the community in a collective effort to promote environmental stewardship.
Co-organised with Mega Fortris Berhad and Coffex (M) Sdn Bhd, and supported by the Selangor Forestry Department, UPM’s Faculty of Forestry and Environment, and the Selangor Youth Community, the programme also featured a DIY Terrarium Workshop, a tree-climbing demonstration, and educational booths. Beyond its ecological impact, the initiative symbolically continued the legacy of HRH Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, who officiated SISFEC as a centre for forestry education and research.
