Members of the media are invited to attend the official launch of the Vital Factor Consulting Cup 2026 – MACSian74 Bridge Over Troubled Waters, which will be officiated by YB Khoo Poay Tiong, marking Malaysia’s inaugural nationwide model bridge challenge.
 
The launch will unveil a competition expected to attract approximately 160 teams from across the country, bringing together students, corporations and engineering professionals in a unique test of innovation and design. Participants will construct model bridges using simple materials, with performance evaluated based on engineering efficiency and creativity.
 
The competition will culminate in a live event featuring dramatic live load testing, where model bridges are pushed to their limits, with a total prize pool of RM33,900, including a top prize of RM15,000 for the overall winner.
 
The initiative represents a rare platform where young talents will compete alongside industry players, highlighting real-world engineering thinking, teamwork and problem-solving.
 
YB Khoo highlighted the broader significance of the initiative:
 
“This competition brings together students, industry and the wider community in a meaningful way. It not only nurtures innovation and practical skills among our youth, but also positions Melaka as a hub for national-level events, contributing to tourism and local economic activity.”
