Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP) will host its flagship World Engineering, Science and Technology Congress (ESTCON2026) at the Penang Waterfront Convention Centre (PWCC) on 8 and 9 September 2026. The congress is expected to attract more than 1,000 delegates from over 20 countries.

The congress will be officiated by the Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI), YB Datuk Chang Lih Kang.

Held under the theme "Technology, Resilience and Regeneration: Engineering Pathways to a Sustainable Future," ESTCON2026 will bring together industry leaders, policymakers, researchers and technology experts to discuss solutions that support energy security, sustainable living and regenerative development.

The ninth edition of ESTCON will feature more than 30 international speakers, over 330 technical paper presentations, and a Technology and Innovation Exhibition showcasing emerging engineering and digital technologies.

The congress comprises three specialised international conferences. The International Conference on Sustainable Living (ICSL) explores resilient infrastructure, smart technologies and sustainable communities; the International Conference on Energy Security (ICES) focuses on energy transition, renewable energy, hydrogen and low-carbon solutions; while the International Conference on Regenerative Futures (ICRF) examines approaches to restoring ecosystems, regenerating natural capital and building long-term resilience for communities and industries.
