YBhg Datuk Dr Shad Saleem Faruqi, Emeritus Professor (UiTM), Former Holder of the Tunku Abdul Rahman Chair (UM), Former Holder of Tun Hussein Onn Chair (ISIS Malaysia), and Former Member of the Judicial Appointments Commission, will deliver the keynote address at the Perdana Leadership Foundation’s 26th Perdana Discourse Series (PDS26), titled “Upholding the Constitution: Challenges and Opportunities”, on 5 November 2026 at the Foundation in Putrajaya. The event is sponsored by DRB-HICOM Berhad.

The discourse will examine the Federal Constitution as the foundation of Malaysia’s legal and governance framework, exploring its role in upholding the rule of law, safeguarding constitutional principles, and maintaining institutional integrity. The session will also consider contemporary constitutional challenges, the relationship between the three branches of government, and the relevance of the Constitution to younger generations.

A panel discussion will follow the keynote address, featuring Datuk Associate Professor Dr Shamrahayu Ab Aziz, Lecturer, Ahmad Ibrahim Kulliyyah of Laws (AIKOL), International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM); Dr Ikmal Hisham Md Tah, Senior Lecturer, Faculty of Law, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM); and Mr Muhammad Faris Fiqran Muhamad, MMU Chancellor’s Award Recipient 2025 and Top 10 Tokoh Siswa Negara 2025 & 2026. The session will be moderated by Mr Ismail Adnan, News Anchor and Presenter, Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM) and Winner of Best TV Commentator, Anugerah Seri Angkasa 2026.
