KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 26 (Bernama) -- PayNet’s Program Akar Powered by AWS re/Start, the prestigious talent development initiative, announced today that applications for its second cohort will open soon. Registration will be available from 1 March to 7 March 2025.
Launched in 2024, the programme addresses Malaysia's urgent need for a digitally skilled workforce by equipping university students with essential cloud computing skills, values-driven power skills, hands-on experience in digital payments and technology, and access to exciting career opportunities.
Key Benefits of the Programme
Selected participants will gain: -
- Industry-Recognised Certifications – AWS re/Start Certificate of Completion, AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner (CLF-C02) exam voucher, Digital Payment Certificate, and Values-Driven Enrichment Program Certificate.
- Practical & Experiential Learning – Hands-on training in cloud computing and digital payments, covering programming, networking, security, and databases, along with experiential learning in values-driven power skills such as critical thinking, empathy, resiliency, and adaptability.
- Career Advancement – Gain access to internships or full-time roles with industry partners, paving the way for careers in cloud computing and digital payments. Note that such opportunities may predominantly be based in the Klang Valley.
Eligibility and Training JourneyThe programme is open to Bachelor’s Degree students with a minimum CGPA of 3.00 in the following fields of study who are seeking internship or placement opportunities:
• Computer Science
• Software Engineering
• Information Technology
• Security/Cyber Security
• Fintech
• Artificial Intelligence
• Engineering with proficiency in programming languages
Selected candidates will undergo a fully funded 12-week virtual training programme from 10 March to 9 June 2025, covering key areas such as cloud technologies and digital payments.
In addition, participants are required to attend in-person sessions, which may include the
Values-Driven Enrichment Program, as well as the launching and graduation ceremonies. These sessions will be held in Klang Valley and participants are required to bear their own travel and accommodation costs for these sessions.
