PETALING JAYA, March 3 (Bernama) -- In collaboration with Penang Heart Safe Society (PHSS) and the Selangor Committee on Resuscitation Training (SCORT), one of the largest public cardiopulmonary resuscitations (CPR) and automated external defibrillator (AED) training sessions in the state will be held at Megah Rise Mall, Petaling Jaya. The Selangor Heart Safe mass training aims to equip 1,000 participants with critical life-saving skills to improve survival rates during cardiac emergencies.

This large-scale training session will take place on 26 April 2025 (Saturday), from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Megah Rise Mall’s Ground Floor Main Atrium and Level 3 Indoor Sports Hall. Participation is free of charge.

“Sudden cardiac arrest is one of the leading causes of death in Malaysia. However, bystanders with proper CPR and AED training can significantly increase a person’s chances of survival. This initiative empowers the community with the knowledge and confidence to act swiftly in emergencies, bridging the crucial gap between an incident and professional medical assistance,” Dato’ Dr Luah Lean Wah, President of Penang Heart Safe Society and Malaysian Resuscitation Association (MyRES).

Participants will experience a series of interactive and practical activities, including hands-on CPR and AED training led by medical professionals, a CPR contest and exhibitions showcasing life-saving devices and their role in community safety.
