BARCELONA, March 4 (Bernama) -- Malaysia positioned itself as a gateway to future innovation today with the official opening of the Malaysia Pavilion at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025. Inaugurated by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Communications, Datuk Mohamad Fauzi Md Isa, the Pavilion highlights Malaysia’s technological advancements, demonstrating the nation’s role in driving progress through 5G deployment, digital infrastructure, and collaborative innovation in the ASEAN region.
Bringing together the Ministry of Communications, the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC), MDEC, and industry leaders including DNB, CelcomDigi, Maxis, Telekom Malaysia, U Mobile, YTL, Edotco and MEASAT, the Malaysia Pavilion showcases the nation’s commitment to driving digital transformation and fostering international partnerships.
“Malaysia is committed to building a digital ecosystem that benefits both Malaysians and our regional partners. The Malaysia Pavilion at MWC 2025 is a testament to our progress and our vision for a connected, innovative, and sustainable future,” said Datuk Mohamad Fauzi during the opening ceremony.
A central highlight of the Pavilion is the National Digital Infrastructure Plan (JENDELA), which has already exceeded expectations by providing high-speed internet access to over 9.03 million premises, surpassing the original target of 9 million by 2025. Another key feature is the pioneering 6-Way Multi-Operator Core Network (MOCN), a first-of-its-kind initiative in ASEAN that enhances connectivity through shared infrastructure among mobile network operators.
“By showcasing our achievements at MWC 2025, Malaysia is demonstrating that we are not only keeping pace with global advancements but also contributing valuable innovations that drive economic growth and societal progress,” added Datuk Mohamad Fauzi.
Visitors to the Malaysia Pavilion can experience a range of content exhibits demonstrating the applications of Malaysia’s technological advancements across key verticals such as healthcare, education, broadcasting, manufacturing, smart city, and AI. The MCMC Nexus, an advanced analytics tool, highlights how Malaysia is enhancing network performance and supporting smarter urban planning. The Pavilion showcases how 5G technology and digital solutions are driving advancements across multiple sectors, emphasising Malaysia’s collaborative approach to regional innovation.
Malaysia’s participation at MWC 2025 emphasises the nation’s readiness to collaborate with global partners and create new opportunities for growth. The Pavilion provides a platform for industry leaders, policymakers, and innovators to connect, exchange ideas, and explore collaborations.
The Malaysia Pavilion will be exhibiting in Hall 7, Stand 7H51 at MWC 2025, which runs from 3 to 6 March, bringing together technology leaders from around the world to explore the future of digital connectivity and share groundbreaking advancements.
