The Government of Malaysia will host the 58th ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting (58th AMM) and Related Meetings from 8 to 11 July at the
Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC).The event will be organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia, in conjunction with the country’s role as Chair of ASEAN in 2025.
Customs Clearance Requirements for Media Equipment Media representatives intending to bring equipment into Malaysia for coverage of the meetings are required to comply with the following customs procedures:
* Customs Importation FormsAll media personnel must complete the relevant Customs Importation Forms. These must include a comprehensive inventory detailing the make, model and serial number of each item of equipment.
* ATA Carnet RequirementMedia representatives must obtain an ATA Carnet – an international Customs document – from their respective national Customs authorities. This document serves as an official declaration for the temporary importation of professional equipment.
* Arrival Procedures in MalaysiaUpon arrival in Malaysia, the Carnet must be presented to the Malaysian Customs authorities. It must be duly endorsed by the Customs office in the country of origin to verify that all listed equipment will be re-exported upon the media representative’s departure from Malaysia.
* Official EndorsementThe ATA Carnet will serve as the official endorsement for the full list of equipment brought into Malaysia for temporary use.
* Liaison with Malaysian AuthoritiesMedia representatives or their respective embassies are advised to liaise directly with the Royal Malaysian Customs Department for further guidance and coordination regarding the temporary importation of media equipment.
1. MEDIA ACCREDITATION Media accreditation is mandatory for all journalists, photographers and broadcasters, and the Official Media of the ASEAN Member States (OM AMS) covering the 58th ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting (58th AMM) and Related Meetings.
Accreditation applications must be submitted online via the official registration portal
https://emacs.myasean2025.my. The deadline for registration for both Malaysian and foreign media is
Friday, 27 June 2025.

Note: Submission of both the press card and endorsed letter of assignment is compulsory for all media representatives, including those under Official Media (OM). Once approved, accreditation badges and media information kits will be issued at the

3. ACCOMMODATIONAll accredited media representatives are responsible for arranging their own accommodation and transportation
. The organiser will not be responsible for any expenses related to lodging, travel, cancellations, or services provided by hotels or third-party providers.
All room reservations must be made directly with the respective hotels.
4. DRESS CODE All accredited media representatives are required to wear business attire and formal footwear throughout the coverage period.
Jeans are strictly prohibited at all official venues.
Accreditation passes must be worn at all times for security and identification purposes.

Host Broadcaster (HB) for the 58th AMM and Related Meetings, delivering high-quality broadcast coverage of key official events.
RTM’s Host Broadcaster Services (HBS) will ensure the delivery of broadcast-grade video content, including live feeds and recorded footage, accessible both on-site and remotely.

6.2 Broadcasters’ Work Area:Wi-Fi is available throughout the International Media Centre. However, accredited media personnel are strongly encouraged to bring their own internet dongles, devices, or additional connectivity tools to ensure uninterrupted coverage.6.3 Multipurpose Interview/Studio Room: A multipurpose Interview/Studio room is available for news recording and interview purposes on a first-come, first-served basis. Requests must be submitted at least 24 hours in advance of the intended recording or interview session.

10 media agency booths for rental on a first-come, first-served basis.
The
rental fee is USD1,500 per booth. An official invoice will be issued upon confirmation of the booking.
7.1 Terms & Conditionsa)
Full payment (100%) is required upon confirmation, no later than
four (4) days before the start of the event.
b) Booths are
limited and will be allocated strictly on a
first-come, first-served basis.

All payments must be made via online bank transfer only.

The Official Media of ASEAN Member States (OM AMS) must register in advance to obtain access to cover relevant meetings.
