KUALA LUMPUR, July 10 (Bernama) -- The ASEAN Post-Ministerial Conferences (PMCs) will commence on 10 July 2025 in Kuala Lumpur. This annual series of meetings will bring together ASEAN Foreign Ministers and their counterparts from ASEAN’s Dialogue Partners for substantive exchanges on regional and international developments, as well as ongoing and future cooperation under the ASEAN Dialogue Partnership framework.
The PMCs serve as a key pillar of ASEAN’s external relations architecture, providing a structured platform to review progress in cooperation, exchange strategic perspectives, and explore new areas of collaboration. In line with the principle of ASEAN Centrality, these meetings also reaffirm ASEAN’s convening power and its role as a trusted, neutral platform for dialogue.
A distinctive feature of the PMCs is the role of ASEAN’s Country Coordinators. Each ASEAN Member State takes on the responsibility of coordinating relations with a specific Dialogue Partner over a multi-year term. This rotation ensures continuity, coherence, and focused engagement, allowing ASEAN to strengthen each partnership through regular and tailored interaction.
As ASEAN Chair for 2025, Malaysia will host the conferences under the theme “Inclusivity and Sustainability,” with a focus on reinforcing ASEAN’s strategic autonomy and strengthening multilateral cooperation. Malaysia will also serve as Country Coordinator for ASEAN–China relations.
The schedule of the PMCs is as follows:

The PMCs are held following the ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting and form part of the broader agenda of the 58th ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting and Related Meetings in Kuala Lumpur. These engagements continue to reinforce ASEAN’s relevance, unity, and leadership in shaping an open, inclusive, and rules-based regional order.
Malaysia, in its capacity as Chair, will facilitate these critical exchanges, aiming to advance the agenda of security, sustainability, and economic cooperation, and further solidifying ASEAN's position as a dynamic and pivotal force in global diplomacy.
