KUALA LUMPUR, July 16 (Bernama) -- Berjaya Sompo Insurance (Berjaya Sompo) proudly announces its title sponsorship of the Berjaya Sompo Yamaha R15M Race Elites for 2025 and 2026, reinforcing its commitment to nurturing future racing talent and raising awareness on motorcycle riding safety.

Launched during Round 1 of the 2025 AEON Credit MAM Malaysia Superbike Championship (MSBK) on 9 May, the R15M Race Elites class, initiated with Hong Leong Yamaha Motor Sdn Bhd (HLYM), offers a stepping stone for young riders transitioning from underbone bikes to more advanced machines. Participants race on Yamaha R15M 155cc bikes modified to full race spec.

“This initiative is about more than speed, it’s about shaping responsible, skilled riders,” said Mr Tan Sek Kee, Chief Executive Officer of Berjaya Sompo. “We’re proud to support a platform that merges youth empowerment with road safety values.”

The series also feeds into regional Asian championships, giving Malaysian riders vital exposure and experience.

As part of its ESG commitments, Berjaya Sompo complements the race programme with its The Good Riders campaign, advocating for defensive riding, proper gear, and bike maintenance.

The highly anticipated 2025 season is set to deliver even greater action with over 32 talented riders participating. This expanded line-up promises four thrilling rounds of racing and intense competition:

·  Round 1: 9–11 May
·  Round 2: 4–6 July
·  Round 3: 12–14 September
·  Round 4 (Final): 7–9 November
