TOKYO, Sept 10 (Bernama-BUSINESS WIRE) -- On Monday, October 27, 2025, The Japan Maritime Daily (JMD), Japan’s leading maritime newspaper, will host an international seminar in Singapore titled “Navigating Turbulent Waters in the Shipping Industry.” With the theme of “Emerging Transport Demands” and supported by the Singapore Exchange (SGX), the seminar will highlight the initiatives of Japan’s major shipping companies and explore the future of the shipping industry through panel discussions.
The keynote address will be delivered by Mr. Jotaro Tamura, Senior Managing Executive Officer of Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL). Mr. Kenneth Ng, Director of SGX Group, will give a presentation. Dr. Roar Adland, Global Head of Research at SSY, will speak on “Dry Bulk Fundamentals and Geopolitics: Navigating Today’s Challenges.”
A panel discussion moderated by Mr. Yohei Misaki, Principal Editor of The Japan Maritime Daily, will bring together Mr. Peter Kolding, Vice President of Commercial & Pool Management at Hafnia; Mr. Fuyo Oji, Branch General Manager of MC Shipping Singapore Branch; Mr. Jin Yu Cheong, Head of Baltic Exchange Asia; and Mr. Jigo Hayashi, Joint General Manager of Tokyo Century Corporation. They will discuss newly emerging transport demands and challenges in the context of global uncertainty. A complimentary networking party will follow the seminar.
