KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 10 (Bernama) -- MODA (Malaysian Official Designers Association) marked a new era at its MODA Next Chapter event, hosted at Sheraton Petaling Jaya with Philosophy as partner. The newly elected 2025–2026 committee, led by President Cyrus Chin, unveiled its refreshed pillars: Elevate. Evolve. Empower, signalling a bold direction for Malaysian fashion.
Since 1990, MODA has united designers and championed local creativity. Its new focus will:
- Elevate: Amplify Malaysian designers’ voices and global visibility.
- Evolve: Embrace digitalisation, innovation, and sustainability.
- Empower: Support designers with mentorship, platforms, and opportunities.
“MODA has always been about community, collaboration, and creativity. With
Elevate, Evolve, and Empower, we are strengthening bonds while preparing Malaysian fashion for the global stage,” said Chin.
Building MomentumSince its election, the committee has reignited connections with initiatives such as Style Your Way MODA Bazaar, festive gatherings, and collaborations with KL Fashion Week (KLFW). Members have also represented Malaysia internationally, from KLFW runways to Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week.
To strengthen its digital presence, MODA has launched a revamped website, featuring a membership hub, designer directory, and event showcase.
MODA PRESENTS: ELEVATION 2025The highlight of MODA’s year,
ELEVATION 2025 is a three-day fashion journey running from 27–29 October 2025 at Starhill Bukit Bintang KL. More than a runway, it is a celebration of Malaysia’s creative spirit: past, present, and future.
Carrying the theme ‘
Design the Future, Walk the Now’, the event unfolds in three chapters:
- Day 1: Origin Stories – A spotlight on students and emerging designers, with a meaningful collaboration with Pink Unity during Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
- Day 2: The Now Edit – Ready-to-wear collections that balance artistry and commerce, defining what’s next for contemporary Malaysian fashion.
- Day 3: Reimagined Vision – The grand finale: bold, boundary-breaking high fashion that dares to challenge convention.
Beyond the runway,
ELEVATION 2025 will feature talks, mentorship sessions, and networking opportunities, positioning MODA as the platform where creativity meets community. Supported by A Cut Above, Steven Sunny, Bravo Events & Entertainment, and The Junzi Sdn Bhd, the event cements MODA’s commitment to uniting Malaysian designers with global inspiration and local impact.
