PUTRAJAYA, Oct 17 (Bernama) -- Malaysian Bioeconomy Development Corporation (Bioeconomy Corporation) will bring its flagship event, the National Bioeconomy Showcase (NBiOSHOWCASE), to the International Digital Economy Conference Sarawak 2025 (IDECS25), highlighting Sarawak’s growing role as a regional hub for sustainable innovation and green technology. The showcase underscores the state’s leadership in advancing an innovation-driven economy, while reflecting Bioeconomy Corporation’s commitment to driving bio-based commercialisation and inclusive growth through sustainability-driven technologies.

NBiOSHOWCASE is Malaysia’s premier biotechnology and bio-based industry summit organised by Bioeconomy Corporation. This year marks its first appearance in Kuching, held in conjunction with IDECS25, spotlighting Sarawak’s distinctive bio-based initiatives that drive sustainable growth, create market opportunities, and empower communities.
IDECS25 - which is expected to attract 10,000 attendees including industry players, researchers, government agencies, and members of the public - will see NBiOSHOWCASE 2025 feature memorandum of understanding exchanges to strengthen partnerships in sustainability, talent development, entrepreneurship, and R&D commercialisation in the bio-based industry.
Through the Jelajah Bioekonomi roadshow at NBiOSHOWCASE 2025, industry players will discover opportunities to enhance growth, expand operations, and access special incentives in Malaysia’s bio-based industry. They will also gain special insights from NBiOSHOWCASE 2025’s Proteome Sponsors, who will share their expertise in areas such as stem cell therapy (KLSMC Stem Cells Sdn Bhd), cancer detection (MiRXES Pte Ltd from Singapore), real-world solutions from R&D (Quest University), and state-driven efforts to promote biotechnology investments (Invest Selangor).
A presentation ceremony will celebrate newly awarded BioNexus Status companies with strong potential in research, commercialisation, and innovation. The event will also include the launch of new bio-based products, an AI-powered portal to identify technology and market gaps in the bio-based industry, and a 30-minute immersive theatre performance featuring biomaterials made from mushroom roots and coffee grounds. A culinary showcase by professional chefs will highlight bio-based ingredients in dishes inspired by Sarawak’s local cuisine, while graduates, students, and job seekers can participate in career talks, advisory and grooming sessions, as well as explore job opportunities in the bio-based industry.
