KOTA DAMANSARA, July 23 (Bernama) -- More than 1,000 residents, football enthusiasts and families gathered at Strand Mall for a community live screening of the FIFA World Cup Final between Spain and Argentina. Organised by Y.B. Tuan Muhammad Izuan Bin Ahmad Kasim, State Assemblyman (ADUN) for Kota Damansara, with the support of the Ministry of Youth and Sports (KBS), Strand Mall and ENCORP, the event brought together people of all ages and backgrounds to celebrate one of the world's biggest sporting occasions.

Among those in attendance were Y.B. Tuan Muhammad Izuan Bin Ahmad Kasim, Puan Zaina Diana Binti Zinal, Board Member of ENCORP, Encik Ahmad Harzimi bin Mohd Taib, Group Chief Executive Officer of ENCORP and Encik Azizi bin Aziz, President of the Jawatankuasa Pembangunan dan Keselamatan Kampung (JPKK) Kampung Melayu Subang, reflecting the strong collaboration between community leaders, the public sector and the private sector.

More than just a football screening, the event showcased the spirit of unity and togetherness, with residents of all ages from diverse backgrounds gathering in a lively and family-friendly atmosphere to enjoy the match together.

For Strand Mall, the event continues its long-standing tradition as a community gathering destination for football enthusiasts. Since 2013, the mall has hosted live football screenings of major sporting events including the FIFA World Cup, UEFA European Championship (EURO), UEFA competitions, SEA Games football finals and other high-profile matches. This initiative aligns with Strand Mall's aspiration to become a community-centric destination that extends beyond retail by providing spaces where local communities can gather, celebrate their heritage, host cultural, recreational and sporting activities and foster meaningful collaborations. 

Adding to the excitement, local personality Mad Sabah kept fans engaged throughout the evening, from the pre-match build-up until the final whistle. The event also provided a platform to support local micro-entrepreneurs with food and beverage vendors receiving strong support from visitors and all stalls selling out during the evening. Attendees also enjoyed live band performances, property showcase, interactive penalty kick games and a highly anticipated lucky draw session. 

The successful turnout highlighted the vibrant community spirit of Kota Damansara and as a place where communities come together, local businesses thrive and memorable experiences are created.
