Joint campaign aims to drive more international visitors to South Korea through the promotion of Jeju, Busan and emerging destinations.

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 10 (Bernama) -- AirAsia MOVE (MOVE) and the Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) have entered a strategic partnership to encourage international travellers to experience more of South Korea by extending their journeys beyond Seoul, promoting the country's vibrant domestic tourism network through destination-led campaigns, curated travel experiences and exclusive offers.

The partnership is built on the shared commitment of MOVE and the Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) to encourage travellers to explore more of South Korea beyond its main gateway cities. By connecting international visitors with South Korea's diverse domestic destinations, the collaboration aims to make regional experiences more accessible while showcasing the country's unique landscapes, cultures and local communities.

As travellers increasingly seek more authentic experiences beyond major cities, this partnership supports South Korea's ambition to welcome more international visitors by making it easier to discover domestic South Korea destinations such as Jeju and Busan. Leveraging MOVE’s regional reach and digital travel ecosystem alongside KTO’s destination expertise, the collaboration aims to spread tourism benefits more evenly while creating greater opportunities for local businesses and communities.

Nadia Omer, CEO of AirAsia MOVE, said: “For many of us, South Korea begins with Seoul. But the country’s true soul lies beyond the capital, in destinations like Busan, Gyeongju, Jeonju, Gangneung and Jeju, each offering experiences that leave a lasting impression. South Korea has also become a cultural bridge through its stories, music and food, inspiring people across generations to experience the destination for themselves.

That shared passion for discovery is what makes our partnership with the Korea Tourism Organization so meaningful. Together, we are inspiring more travellers to look beyond the familiar, uncover the many sides of South Korea, and continue this journey of discovery together.”

Mr. Shin Jung Hun, Managing Director of the Korea Tourism Organization, said: “By combining AirAsia’s extensive air network with the powerful marketing capabilities of AirAsia MOVEs platform, we are confident that we can successfully introduce the diverse attractions of destinations across Korea to Malaysian and Asean travellers. KTO and AirAsia MOVE will continue to work closely together on a wide range of joint marketing campaigns, and we look forward to seeing continued interest and support from travellers.”

To mark the collaboration, MOVE is rolling out a limited-time promotional campaign featuring exclusive savings on domestic travel across South Korea:

  • Promo Code [JEJU200]: RM200 off* domestic flights to Jeju with a minimum spend of RM250;
  • Promo Code [KRDOM150]: RM150 off* domestic flights within South Korea with a minimum spend of RM200;
