^{Korea Defense SMEs Trade Mission 2026}


KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia, Oct 2 (Bernama) -- Gyeongnam Regional Office of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups (MSS Gyeongnam), Korea Defense Industry Association (KDIA), and BNK Gyeongnam Bank, held the 2026 Gyeongnam Defense SMEs Business Meeting in Kuala Lumpur to promote cooperation between Korean and Malaysian defense industries.

The event brought together 10 defense SMEs from Gyeongsangnam-do, Korea, and major Malaysian defense companies and business partners for a series of one-on-one business meetings. The participating Korean companies possess specialized technologies in areas including fighter aircraft structural design, aircraft engine turbine blades, satellite image sensors and armored vehicle components.

Through the business meeting, MSS Gyeongnam and KDIA facilitated one-on-one meetings between Korean SMEs and Malaysian defense companies, resulting in business consultations and the signing of cooperation-related MOUs between companies from the two countries.

The program also included 9 students from Changwon National University’s Department of International Trade, who participated alongside Korean companies in the business meetings. The students had the opportunity to engage directly with Malaysian defense companies and business representatives, gaining firsthand experience of international business and cross-border industry cooperation.

The latest meeting represents another step toward building long-term industrial partnerships and expanding cooperation between Korean and Malaysian defense companies.
