MHX JAKARTA 2026 BRINGS TOGETHER MORE HOSPITALS AND A WIDER RANGE OF MEDICAL TOURISM OPTIONS

Friday 16/10/2026

JAKARTA, Oct 16 (Bernama) -- Malaysia Healthcare Travel Council (MHTC) is bringing the Malaysia Healthcare Expo (MHX) back to Indonesia, concluding this year’s series with MHX Jakarta 2026, taking place from 15–18 October 2026 at Laguna Atrium, Central Park Mall, West Jakarta. With a larger scale, MHX Jakarta 2026 brings together more MHTC member hospitals and Tourism Board partners, while offering the Indonesian public a wider range of information on healthcare services and travel experiences in Malaysia.

Held in support of Malaysia Year of Medical Tourism 2026 (MYMT 2026), themed “Healing Meets Hospitality”, the initiative brings together stakeholders from the healthcare and tourism sectors to broaden Indonesians’ access to Malaysia’s integrated medical tourism ecosystem, from healthcare services to the experience of staying in Malaysia.

Over the four-day event, visitors can meet hospital representatives in person and learn about the range of healthcare services available in Malaysia. Beyond gathering information, visitors can also take advantage of free consultation sessions to discuss their healthcare needs and learn about treatment options and the medical technologies available at each hospital. Participating hospitals are also offering promotions and special deals throughout MHX Jakarta 2026.

In Jakarta, some of the specialties attracting strong interest from Indonesians include internal medicine, orthopaedic surgery, cardiology, clinical oncology, and gastroenterology and hepatology. Through MHX Jakarta 2026, MHTC hopes visitors will gain comprehensive information about available treatment options and have the opportunity to seek a second medical opinion as part of their considerations before deciding on their healthcare journey.

MHX Jakarta 2026 features 21 leading Malaysian hospitals and two Tourism Boards, namely Sarawak Tourism Board and Tourism Selangor. Their participation enhances the visitor experience, allowing the public not only to explore healthcare options in Malaysia but also to learn about destinations they can enjoy during their trip.

Participating hospitals include MHTC’s Flagship Medical Tourism Hospital (FMTH), Island Hospital Penang, as well as Institut Jantung Negara (IJN), Mahkota Specialist Hospital, and Subang Jaya Medical Centre. Other participating member hospitals are Alpha IVF & Women’s Specialists, Cengild G.I. Medical Centre, GenPrime Everlink Fertility Centre, Gleneagles Hospital Penang, Hospital Picaso, Ampang Puteri Specialist Hospital, Damansara Specialist Hospital 2 (DSH2), KPJ Sabah Specialist Hospital, MSU Medical Centre, Northern Heart Hospital Penang, Optimax Eye Specialist Centre, Pantai Hospital Melaka, Penang Adventist Hospital, Regency Specialist Hospital, Sunway Medical Centre Damansara, Sunway Medical Centre Penang, and Sunway Medical Centre Sunway City Kuala Lumpur.

“When people choose to seek treatment in another country, they are not simply looking for a hospital. They are looking for trust and the confidence that they are in safe hands. For international patients, particularly those from Indonesia, we want Malaysia Healthcare to feel safe, familiar and a little like home, much like the comfort of a mother’s embrace. Through MYMT 2026 and our ‘Healing Meets Hospitality’ promise, we want every patient and family to experience that sense of trust and care,” said YBhg. Dato’ Suriaghandi Suppiah, Chief Executive Officer of MHTC.

Malaysia’s healthcare travel industry welcomed approximately 1.85 million healthcare travellers in 2025, generating RM3.35 billion in revenue. Compared with 2024, when Malaysia received around 1.6 million healthcare travellers and generated RM2.72 billion, the 2025 performance reflects continued growth in both traveller numbers and industry revenue.

Adding to the programme at MHX Jakarta 2026, visitors will also be entertained by a special performance from Indonesian singer GANGGA, who made his debut as a singer in 2019. His appearance is expected to create a warm and engaging atmosphere for visitors while strengthening the cultural connection between Indonesia and Malaysia.

The visitor experience at MHX Jakarta 2026 is further supported by strategic partners, including Batik Air, JavaMifi, Le Méridien Petaling Jaya, and Maybank Premier. Their collaboration not only supports the event but also strengthens cross-sector synergies in promoting Malaysia Healthcare in Indonesia.
