PUTRAJAYA, Oct 22 (Bernama) -- Putrajaya Holdings Sdn. Bhd. (PjH) and Sunway Healthcare Holdings Berhad (SHH) formalised a strategic 40:60 joint venture to develop Sunway Medical Centre Putrajaya, a planned 325-bed multi-specialty tertiary private hospital in Precinct 7, Putrajaya. 

The definitive Joint Venture and Shareholders’ Agreement was entered into by their respective wholly owned subsidiaries, Tapak Senja Sdn. Bhd. (TSSB) and Sunway Healthcare Ventures Sdn. Bhd. (SHV), following the Heads of Agreement signed on 23 April 2025.

Located within Putrajaya’s transit-oriented development (TOD) precinct, the development is supported by a strong transportation infrastructure with convenient access to Kuala Lumpur International Airport and is expected to enhance healthcare accessibility for communities across Putrajaya and the wider vicinities. Construction is currently targeted to begin in the fourth quarter of 2027, with completion anticipated in 2031, subject to the relevant approvals and project schedules. 

Leveraging Complementary Strengths

The joint venture brings together PjH’s extensive experience in real-estate development as the master developer of Putrajaya and Sunway Healthcare’s proven capabilities in developing and operating complex tertiary and quaternary healthcare facilities. Under this partnership, Sunway Healthcare will lead the hospital’s clinical and operational planning, relevant approvals, and its commercial operation phase.
